Local Food Marketing & CSA Training held in Estelline Oct. 23

BROOKINGS, S.D. – SDSU Extension is holding a workshop on direct marketing outlets for local foods and community supported agriculture (CSA) Oct. 23 in Estelline, S.D.

Discussion topics will include an overview of options for marketing local food, a regulatory agency overview, online sites for marketing local foods, lessons learned in starting a CSA business and information on building your CSA.

Produce growers, food producers, food-product processors or those interested in starting a business in these areas will gain useful information to help enhance their business.

The session runs from 9 a.m. to noon. This training is sponsored by USDA Rural Development and will be provided free of charge to the public. The trainings will be held at the Estelline Community Center, 219 Main St. North.
