On Feb. 28, The Tenors, a vocal quartet group came to Brookings. The singers are on their Lead With Your Heart tour and they made a stop in Brookings at the Performing Arts Center before kicking off the European portion of the tour in Lichfield, Staffordshire, 

A total of nine shows will be performed in Great Britain and then move onto Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. The group of four has made it onto The Oprah Show, sang for Her Majesty The Queen and made appearances at NBA, MLB and NHL All-Star Games. The group of four has met queens, presidents and princesses. In Canada, they have been hailed as musical ambassadors and Canada’s national treasure. 

The show that The Tenors held here at the PAC was a sold out show, according to David Reynolds, head of the department of music. He added that, “the show was terrific, it was a terrific night.”

The Tenors have made three different albums, including the  album “Lead With Your Heart” released in 2012.  

All together, the quartet has been many places. Including the performance in Brookings. Woodbine Productions, a  project of the SDSU Foundation, held the concert. Woodbine first had a concert back in 2007. Since then $250,000 has been raised for the scholarships. The Foundation has an anonymous benefactor who allows every dollar of every ticket sold to Woodbine to go to the music fund. The scholarship fund goes toward competitive scholarships for talented music students. The music that they choose suits a wide variety of tastes. 

The 2013 winners of NBC’s “The Sing-Off,” Home Free will be the next performance in the Woodbine Productions concert series. The concert will take place during Mom’s Weekend, April 1.
