Jacks mount comeback for first dual win

CORVALLIS, Ore. – It took a comeback, but the South Dakota State Jackrabbits earned its first win in the Damion Hahn era, defeating Oregon State 19-17.

It was the first time the Jackrabbits wrestled as a team since losing to Minnesota 35-6 in late-November.

While the day began with a rocky with a 14-point Oregon State lead junior Henry Pohlmeyer got the first three points of the night for the Jackrabbits with an 8-4 decision over Zach Evans.

That kickstarted the Jackrabbits, who went on to win five of the last six to seal its first dual victory of the season.

Martin Mueller earned bonus points at the 197-weight class, where he defeated Bob Coleman 15-5 for a four-point major decision.

South Dakota State will be back in action at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at 7 p.m. in Hoffman Estates December 29-30.
