In a South Dakota Board of Regents press release, it was announced that public universities are temporarily moving to online classes starting March 23, with face-to-face classes resuming April 6.

“This is an evolving situation and the SDBOR will revisit the situation and communicate any changes in course delivery March 27,” an email from South Dakota State University’s COVID-19 Response Team said.

Students who returned home for spring break are encouraged to stay home until classes resume. Students who were approved to return to campus during the extended break are also highly encouraged to return home to “limit exposure while engaging in classes online.”
