To Whom It May Concern,

This time each semester, I look up at my bookshelf and see 3 or 4 books that I have never seen before. Oh yeah, now I remember, I have seen them before- when I paid $95 for it at the beginning of the semester. I know that within a few weeks, I will get a less-than-profitable return on my investment when the entreprenuers at the bookstore steal, I mean, buy them back. It really isn’t all their fault though. If I had actually *used* the books, I might feel different. However, it seems I always end up buying several expensive textbooks, only to have the course instructor totally ignore the book the whole semester. For example, this semester I spent about $250 on books. I know there are a great many students who pay much more than that. On average, I spend less than one hour each week with my nose in them, and I manage to keep an above-average GPA. Why require already-broke college students to buy expensive books, only to have us get squat when we sell them back?
