Volleyball team falls to UNC, ends season 28-7 overall

After an impressive pair of victories over the University of North Dakota and Minnesota-Duluth, the Jackrabbit volleyball team finally fell in the regional championship game to Northern Colorado.

The weekend of play in Greeley, Colo., with #1-seeded UNC holding the home-court advantage, left the Jacks with and overall season record of 28-7.

The Jacks defeated the University of North Dakota in four games during their Friday tournament opener. The game scores were 30-17, 30-25, 26-30, 30-28.

Kim Bostrom powered the attack in the first two games contributing to the .378 hitting percentage for the team.

Bostrom ended the game with 19 kills and six block assists.

Wendy O’Neill also was a key to the Jacks offense with seven kills and a service ace in the last game.

Kelly Hoemann and Annie Ebnet also reached double figures in kills for SDSU with 11 each.

Angie Rime also had 66 set assists as the Jackrabbits held a .297 advantage overall in team hitting percentages.
