Students hunt for jobs; employers give tips at fair

staff

The beginning of the school year brings many new faces to Brookings and, along with it, an influx of job hunters.

More than 500 students worked their way through the Volstorff Ballroom Tuesday afternoon hoping to find full- or part-time employment with local businesses.

The 5th Annual Student Employment Job Fair, sponsored by the Career and Academic Planning Center and the One-Stop Career Center, hosted 28 area employers (up from 23 in 2002) looking to hire SDSU students.

For some students, though, the search for a job can be tough this time of year when so many eager students are competing for jobs to pay the bills.
