Marijuana legalization an issue for states to decide

The issue of medical marijuana in America is not a partisan issue. In fact it is one of the few topics that Democrats and Republicans agree upon. During the 1990’s, President Clinton threatened to revoke doctor’s licenses if they discussed use of marijuana with their patients. President Bush has continued that policy. That was until this past week when in the Supreme Court of the United States upheld a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit that restricted the government from revoking the licenses of doctors who recommend marijuana to patients.

It was an outstanding win for proponents of its medicinal use, and it blessed medical marijuana laws that exist in several states.
