Headline spelling error taints SDSU reputation

staff

I would just like to inform you that you spelled excellence wrong (exellence) on the front page headline of this week’s newspaper. That does not represent our school well.

Jaclyn Lembcke

In the last issue of the Collegian, you made an impression on all of us. 125 years of EXELLENCE. Is that how you spell excellence? This is not the first mistake I’ve noticed in this semester’s publications. To flaw is human, but in a headline of this importance, you think you may proofread to guarantee the quality of your work. This mistake puts a taint on the institution and the people associated with it. Hopefully, for your sake and the students’ sake, more caution will be used in running important headlines such as celebrating 125 years of EXCELLENCE.
