Getting ‘Lost’ in twists, turns, hotties

Have you ever spent hours speculating on what was inside “the hatch?” Ever wonder how polar bears landed on a desert island? Do you feel the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 have an eerie amount of control over your life? Yes, you too may be addicted to “LOST.” Considering the show returned to ABC recently for season three, I wanted to dedicate a few paragraphs to expound on its genius.

If you’re unfamiliar with LOST, I really can’t give you a recap of what’s happened up to this point. Although the castaways have only been on the island around 70 days, too much weird crap has occurred to mention. I suggest renting the seasons if you want to catch up. Those of you who aren’t “Lostaways” may be wondering how it’s possible so little time has past in over two seasons. Please – don’t question the gods of the island. With one of the top-rated shows on primetime and a strong cult following, they can do whatever they want.

As far as this season goes, I foresee several interesting developments. First, expect the Others to be big this season as Jack, Kate and Sawyer attempt to escape them. I have no idea what the Others have in mind for their three captives, but it looks particularly bleak for Kate and Sawyer. However, look for a hot romance between those two, considering we already witnessed that steamy kiss. I’m guessing Jack will be used for some psychological experiments we won’t understand until the end of the season.

On the other side of the island, we still have the hatch question. Last season ended with a big boom that should have killed nearly everyone. Of course, it’s likely no one will be dead. Anyway, I predict another season of mass confusion about the power of the hatch and its place in the universe. I know – it sounds like metaphysics and at times feels just as complicated. However, I expect a revelation will come to light sometime this season. Hey, as long as Desmon, the former hatch-keeper, sticks around for the season, I’m happy!

With “LOST” currently a hot show, I hope it will flourish for years to come. Unfortunately, we all know that they can’t stay on that island forever. I guess the only other option would be the characters appearing on “Survivor” where they are stranded on another planet. Sawyer in a spacesuit works for me.
