The Dos and Donts of Valentine’s Day gifts

It’s finally over.

Gifts have been given, and hearts have been won or lost thanks to the creativity, or lack thereof, on the parts of couples across campus. Valentine’s Day gifts have definite winners and losers. Here’s a list of some of the best and worst:

The Best:? Flowers, not necessarily roses? Candy, especially chocolate? Jewelry? Watches? Home-baked goodies, like cookies or cakes ? Perfume/Cologne

The Worst:? Wilted flowers, ? Novelty and edible undergarments, ? “Diet” or “light” food items ? Scattered rose petals-they make a big mess.

When you buy someone a gift, make sure it’s not just something you bought last minute. Put some thought into it; make sure the gift is personal. Don’t give someone flowers they are allergic to. If a person doesn’t like foot massages, don’t give them a construction paper gift certificate for a free one from you.

A final reminder to all: if you must scatter roses on the bed, make sure they are de-thorned.
