In a “hitters’ ballpark,” SDSU swept a three-game series with Northern Colorado on April 14-15 in Rapid City. The Jackrabbits used big innings to secure the victories, while keeping the Bears from scoring more than four runs in an inning. In their double-header on April 22, SDSU used a 6-run inning in the first game and a 7-run inning in the second game to propel them to victory.

“It was a good weekend for us,” Head Coach Reggie Christiansen said.

The baseball team has won 11 of their past 14 games. Christiansen said his team has been playing well all year long, but recently the Jacks have been playing “teams more like us.” He said SDSU has been playing games against teams with similar resources.

As the season winds down, Christiansen said the biggest key for the Jacks will be defense. He said the team could always hit and pitch better, but that defense is what really needs to continue to improve.
