Board approves tuition and fee increases

Tuition will go up 4 percent next year, while fees are set to go up an additional 1.9 percent for a total 5.9 percent increase. The fee increases include a $6 per credit hour technology fee to improve wireless Internet and classroom technology on campus.

On the dining side, food service plans will increase 5.4 percent next year.

According to the April 9, 2008, issue of The Collegian, tuition and fees also rose 5.9 percent last year. In addition to those costs, residence hall rates rose 4.3 to 4.4 percent last year, and a 2 percent fee increase was earmarked for science and laboratory upgrades. Meal plans rose 2.8 percent.

The Board of Regents approved this year’s tuition and fee increases at its April 3 meeting.
