Letter to the Editor: On Call thank you

staff

I want to publicly thank the many SDSU students who work with the On Call television program. In particular, students who are active in the SDSU Pre-professional Club, students who are taking the Mass Communications On Call activity class and other nursing, pharmacy and nutrition students who assist by volunteering with our broadcasts should know how much their contributions are valued.

On Call is a live, one-hour program about health care produced by the SDSU’s AgBio Communications Unit and broadcast statewide on S.D. Public Television. The show simply would not be possible without the students who help answer phones, work in the studio and control room and perform other duties during our broadcasts.

On a personal level, I feel that these are a special group of young men and women. They spend their Thursday evenings working with us and, I believe, growing and learning about their chosen fields of study. Whether their field of study is premed, journalism or some other profession, these students are actively working to provide accurate and useful medical information directly to the people of South Dakota. Their willingness to embrace this goal of service is admirable, and I am proud to have them as part of the On Call team.
