Two medley relays break SDSU top 10

The Jackrabbit track and field teams were in Ames, Iowa for the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 12 to 13.

The men’s medley relay team ran the third fastest in school history. The team of Greg Vollmer, Jared Foote, Jared Ailts and Marshall Kambestad placed 11th with a time of 10:08.49.

Kambestad also placed 13th with a time of 8:33.04 in the 3,000 meter run.

Sophomore Luke Leischner moved to seventh all-time in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.47 seconds.

Kyle Schmidt placed sixth in the 3,000 meter run in a career-best time of 8:52.37.

Vollmer placed 17th in the mile run in 4:21.83.

The women’s medley relay team of Ashley Storm, Christi Rosenbrook, Krista Creager and Nicole Davis placed 12th with a time of 12:06.74.

Storm and Rosenbrook teamed up with Megan Lauseng and Anna Garner for the 4 x 400 meter relay team. Their time of 3:56.31 is ninth all-time in the event.

Davis placed 14th in the 3,000 meter run in 9:59.68.

Storm placed 19th in the mile run in 4:59.99.

Brittany Garner placed 19th in the 200 meter dash in 25.15 seconds.
