Brittany Garner breaks indoor pole vault record at Nebraska Tune-Up

The Jackrabbit track and field teams competed at the Nebraska Tune-Up in Lincoln, Neb., on Feb. 19.

On the women’s side, senior Brittany Garner placed sixth in pole vault with a height of 12 feet, 6 inches breaking her indoor school record in the event.

Sophomore Anna Garner placed second in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18 minutes, 34.86 seconds.

Junior Ashley Storm placed third with a personal best of 2:14.70 in the 800 meter run. Her time is tied for fourth all-time.

Sophomore Rachael Hakk placed fourth in high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 4.5 inches.

Senior Nicole Davis placed sixth in the mile run in 5:04.59.

Lora Shearer moved into seventh all-time with a sixth-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles. Her time of 9.0714 beat teammate Anna Gagliano by five thousandths of a second.

Junior Emily Smith placed seventh in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:55.65.

Junior Marshall Kambestad led the way for the men by winning the 3,000 meter run in 8:32.63.

Freshman Kyle Schmidt placed sixth in the 5,000 meter run in 15:20.11.

The teams will be in Fargo, N.D. for the Summit League Indoor Championships on Feb. 28 to March 1.
