Just when students were beginning to see various construction sites around campus starting to clear out, Student Facilities is proposing for more projects to get going on campus.

At the Board of Regents meeting on Oct. 13 and 14, four possible projects will be discussed.

“Plans to talk about new residences halls with dining services, a bio research laboratory, a new football stadium and indoor practice facility and human performance facility will be discussed at the BOR meeting next week,” said Dean Kattelmann, assistant vice president of student facilities.

Several students are anticipating the new possible construction projects.

“I think it would be awesome to get a new football stadium,” said sophomore Jon Fick, offensive lineman for the Jackrabbits. “It’s been shown that we are averaging more attendance at the games so I think it’s definitely necessary and would be a great addition to SDSU.”

“Having an indoor practice facility would benefit athletes greatly because it would give us a place to practice when there is inclement weather,” said Tyrel Kool, sophomore running back and receiver for the Jackrabbits.

As of now, each new addition is in the preliminary request stage and nothing is currently set in stone. More information will be available after the BOR meeting.
