"Embrace Local Journalism" is the theme of this year's National Newspaper Week, which takes place Oct. 5-11. Collegian Media is home to South Dakota State University's student-run newspaper, radio station, website and newscast. The Collegian newspaper has been printing since 1885.

Ryann Davis

Ryann Davis, News Director

Ryann is a sophomore journalism major from Brookings, SD. She was randomly placed in a journalism class in high school and fell in love with writing. Ryann is the oldest of three, she has a sister and a brother. She grew up in Albertville, MN, and moved to her dad’s family farm in SD when she was eight.

Outside of working for Collegian Media, Ryann enjoys going to coffee shops (she’s a coffee connoisseur), spending time with her friends, scrapbooking, and baking. She also has part-time jobs babysitting and at The Carrot Seed in downtown Brookings.
