A handful of former Jackrabbit football players are on NFL rosters this season, and four played in games this past Sunday. Here’s how they did:
- Week 5 of the NFL season was filled with many games ending in close finishes, including Denver giving the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season, 21-17. Eagles tight end and former Jackrabbit Dallas Goedert finished the game with nine targets but had only three catches for 19 yards and a touchdown. Goedert and the Eagles go on the road to face the division rival New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.
- Another game that may have surprised some people was Carolina winning a close game over the Miami Dolphins 27-24. Panthers linebacker and former Jack Christian Rozeboom once again led the Panthers in total tackles with nine. The Panthers host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
- New Orleans linebacker and ex-SDSU player Isaiah Stalbird had a tackle on special teams this week in the Saints’ first win of the season as they defeated the Giants 26-14. The Saints host the New England Patriots on Sunday.
- New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis, who finished his SDSU career in 2024, saw an increased workload on Sunday. He had one rush for 5 yards and was targeted four times for three catches and 28 yards in the Jets’ 37-22 loss to Dallas. With Jets running back Braelon Allen being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, Davis could continue to see an increased snap count. The winless Jets head overseas to London this Sunday to face the Broncos.
- Week 5 had two former Jacks out on a bye, but they are returning to play this week. Green Bay tight end Tucker Kraft leads his team in catches (16), targets (20), and receiving yards (225) this season. He also has a pair of touchdowns. The Packers face Cincinnati at home at Lambeau Field this Sunday.
- Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Mason McCormick was the other Jackrabbit alum who had a bye week. McCormick and the Steelers face one of their division rivals, the Cleveland Browns, this weekend.
