The Jackrabbit women’s soccer team defeated Drake 1-0 on Wednesday, extending its unbeaten streak to six matches.
The teams were scoreless for 69 minutes before Lauren Walter scored her first career goal, assisted by MaKynlie Cade.
Both teams had only two shots apiece in the final 20 minutes. Drake earned a corner kick in the 82nd minute, but a defensive header from Ellie Gusman kept the Bulldogs scoreless.
Walter, Hannah Langstaff, Zoe Wittkop, Jenna Maloy and Mia Bosch all had multiple shots. Wittkop led the team with two shots on goal.
SDSU goalkeeper Mallorie Benhart made five saves to record her third shutout of the year.
The win moves SDSU to 4-1-3 on the season.

The Jackrabbits return home Sunday to begin a five-match homestand against Northern Colorado. The match is the team’s annual “Goald” game, a partnership with Northwestern Mutual and Alex’s Lemonade Stand to raise money for childhood cancer research.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Fishback Soccer Park.
