One of the most anticipated games on the FCS schedule, the Jackrabbits and the Bobcats will be facing off in a top-3 matchup inside Bobcat Stadium on Saturday.
This will be the 19th time these two programs have played each other, dating back to 1956. The games have become more “high-stakes” in recent years. This will be the third matchup in a row where both teams are in the top three in national rankings.
The Jacks have had the advantage as of late, having won four out of the last five games between these teams. The one they didn’t win, a 31-17 loss on the road in the 2021 FCS semifinals, sent the Bobcats to their first national championship game appearance under Vigen.
Justin Lameson is the new signal caller for MSU, taking over the position from former Bobcat quarterback Tommy Mellott. A college football journeyman, Lameson has previously played for Stanford and started a handful of games for the Cardinal over the last two years.
A sold-out crowd in Bozeman awaits the Jackrabbits on Saturday, as SDSU will attempt to win a Montana State “Gold Rush” game for the second time.
