Basketball: Cody Larson eligible for Jacks’ men this season

The NCAA Subcommittee for Legislative Relief granted South Dakota State’s legislative release waiver for a one-time transfer exception on Monday, which means that junior Cody Larson can play for the Jackrabbit men’s basketball team in the upcoming season.

“We want to thank the committee and the NCAA for taking the time to look at Cody’s waiver,” head coach Scott Nagy said. “We appreciate the fact that this ruling allows him the opportunity to be eligible to compete immediately.”

The ruling grants Larson, a Sioux Falls native and transfer from Florida, two years of eligibility with the Jackrabbits.

The SDSU men open the 2013-14 season with an exhibition game at home on Friday, Nov. 1, at Frost Arena, before opening the regular season on Friday, Nov. 8, at the University of San Diego Tournament.
