An SDSU student died unexpectedly Sept. 10 while running at a local track in Brookings. 

Taylor Eugene Kentfield, 21, formerly of LeMars, Iowa, Glenwood, Iowa, and Cortland, Neb. According to the Brookings Register, Kentfield was running with friends when he collapsed. On-scene CPR was performed by Brookings police officers and an off-duty EMT. He was taken by ambulance to the Brookings Health System, where he died.

Funeral services for Kentfield were held Sept. 13 in Brookings and Sept. 16 in Ralston, Neb. 

Kentfield graduated from Glenwood (Iowa) High School in 2010.
