After claiming an individual championship at the Western Wrestling Conference and garnering a five seed in the 157-pound bracket at the NCAA tournament, Cody Pack is this week’s Collegian Sports Athlete of the Week.

A senior from Quincy, Cal., Pack was also named to the All-WWC first team for second year in a row. He is 34-4 on the season, and has won his last 13 consecutive matches, including one in SDSU’s duel against North Dakota State where he went up to 165-pounds in a strategic move by SDSU head coach Chris Bono to try and seal a conference title in that duel.

Pack will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to compete in the NCAA Wrestling championships. Joining him will be junior heavyweight JJ Everard, who also automatically qualified with an individual win at the WWC championships, and 197-pound redshirt freshman Nate Rotert, who received an at-large bid.
