Classes and other university functions will remain open Tuesday as snow accumulations reach six to 10 inches through Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Brookings County that will remain in effect through Tuesday evening.

Don Challis, the assistance vice president for safety and security, sent a campus-wide email to students and faculty about the weather alert on Monday.

If the University cancels classes or other events, they will send a notification through Everbridge and Alertus Desktop.

Challis also advises students download the Jackrabbits Guardian app to ensure safety.

For parking, Parking Services advises that student commuters that are required to stay overnight park their cars in lot 113, 138 and 166. Lot 113 is located in the old motor pool area. Lot 138 is west of Pugsley Hall and lot 166 is west of the Coughlin Alumni Stadium.
