With Valentine’s day coming up later this week, some may be panicking on what to get that special someone in their life.

Luckily, the Horticulture and Urban Agriculture Club will be selling floral arrangements throughout the day on Thursday, Feb. 14 in The Union across from The Bookstore.

They will have roses, carnations and Gerbera daisies available in premade bouquets or single flower arrangements in either a vase or wrapping. The flowers also come in a variety of colors.

Payton Schafers, the chair of this event for the  Horticulture and Urban Agriculture Club, wants to make sure everyone has the opportunity to create something special for anyone in their life.

“We’re keeping everything really flexible and simple this year,” she said

Customers have the choice of creating their own personalized bouquet or purchasing a premade one for the special person in your life. They will even be offering a Jackrabbit themed arrangement that will feature yellow and blue roses.

All arrangements come with Baby’s Breath and Leather Leaf as fillers to make your bouquet look full and are free of charge.

Prices will vary but Schafers says she wants to keep everything affordable as possible.

“We really focus on having a variety of arrangements with a variety of prices to accommodate any budget,” she said.

As a baseline price, roses will cost $5 each or $50 for a dozen, while Carnations and Gerbera daisies will cost $3 each.

The proceeds made will go towards the  Horticulture and Urban Agriculture Club to help pay for national conferences and smaller educational field trips for members to go on.

So whether it’s that best friend who’s always got your back, your parents that are coming up for the weekend or your significant other, make sure to stop by The Union for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday to pick them up something special.
