No members of the South Dakota State cross country team were able to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet at the NCAA Midwest Regionals on Nov. 9 in Peoria, Illinois.

The men’s team was not able to keep the momentum from their Summit League championship as they finished 10th overall while the women took 13th.

Seniors Kyle Burdick and Rachel King both earned All-Region honors after taking 15th and 19th overall, respectively. Burdick was one spot away in the men’s race from qualifying for the NCAA Championship meet.

The men finished above all other Summit League schools who participated in the meet, while the women finished only behind North Dakota State.

31 schools participated in the men’s race while 35 teams raced on the women’s side.
