Update: At 11:03 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 15, Adelaine sent an email to all SDSU students stating that the suspect has been identified and is now out of state. UPD is now working with out-of-state law enforcement.

Original story: A sexual assault was reported Oct. 14 in Jackrabbit Village.

A resident was sexually assaulted by a male that’s not believed to currently be an enrolled student at South Dakota State, said an email sent out by SDSU Vice President for Technology and Safety Michael Adelaine.

The suspect is described as an 18-20-year-old white male who is approximately 5’6” to 5’9” and was last seen wearing a yellow University of Iowa sweatshirt and a gray baseball cap.

UPD is asking for information on the individual’s whereabouts and they believe that there may be a potential for an ongoing threat.

UPD can be contacted by dialing 111 from a campus phone or 911 from a cellular phone. The UPD non-emergency number is 688-5117. Additional information is available on the UPD website.
