The South Dakota State wrestling team recorded a shutout victory over Augustana on Friday before nine wrestlers went undefeated at the Warren Williamson Daktronics Invitational on Sunday.

On Sunday at the Daktronics Invitational, Cale Seaton’s win over a ranked opponent highlighted the day. Seaton, wrestling at 133 pounds, defeated No. 29 Tristan Daugherty of North Dakota State by a 6-1 decision to improve to 6-0 on the season.
The Jackrabbits scored significant bonus points during the tournament. Brady Roark (125 pounds) earned a major decision and a technical fall, Cael Swensen (133 pounds) had two technical falls, and Marcus Espinoza-Owens (165 pounds) recorded a major decision and a technical fall.
Several freshmen also went undefeated, with Jacob Herm (165 pounds), Zach Ballante (157 pounds) and Bas Diaz (157 pounds) all posting 2-0 records. Diaz recorded his first collegiate technical fall.
Julian Tagg (141 pounds) and Jared Thiry (184 pounds) also went undefeated, each winning their sole match.

The Jackrabbits dominated No. 14 Augustana of Division II with a 46-0 dual victory Friday in front of 2,107 fans at First Bank & Trust Arena.
South Dakota State won all 10 matches, scoring bonus points in eight. The dual included two pins, four technical falls and two major decisions.
Clay Carlson secured the first pin at 141 pounds, winning at the 2:27 mark of the first period. At 165 pounds, redshirt sophomore Tanner Cook earned a fall in 4:32.
“I thought our guys wrestled well tonight,” SDSU head coach Damion Hahn said in a post-dual interview on Midco Sports Two. “They really kept on a pace and they stuck with it and there was urgency.”
Top-ranked SDSU wrestlers also posted dominant wins. No. 4 Tanner Sloan won by a 19-4 decision at 197 pounds, and No. 5 Cade DeVos earned a 19-4 major decision over Derek Venteicher at 174 pounds. The tone was set early when 125-pounder Tanner Jordan opened with a 19-3 technical fall.
South Dakota State will travel to Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Williams Arena.
