Football tabbed fourth by Football Championship Committee

With just three weekends left in the 2019 regular season, the Football Championship Committee released its preliminary top-10 rankings Wednesday night on ESPN2.

Currently sitting at 7-2, South Dakota State was placed fourth in the rankings behind North Dakota State, James Madison and Weber State. The full top-10 is below.

  2. James Madison (8-1)
  3. Weber State (7-2)
  4. South Dakota State (7-2)
  5. Sacramento State (6-3)
  6. Northern Iowa (6-3)
  7. Central Arkansas (7-2)
  8. Montana (7-2)
  9. Furman (6-3)
  10. New Hampshire (5-3)

SDSU hosts Illinois State, No. 12 in the Football Championship Subdivision coaches poll, Nov. 9 and No. 6 Northern Iowa Nov. 16 before finishing the regular season at South Dakota Nov. 23.

This is the only ranking the committee will release before the FCS playoff bracket is revealed Sunday, Nov. 24.
