Demography conference set for next month at SDSU
April 18, 2013
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota’s State Census Center is hosting a demography conference next month to teach the average person how to read and understand data.
The conference will be held at South Dakota State University on May 21-23.
State demographer Mike McCurry says the Internet has made demography a social science everyone can use because the data is so readily available.
The conference will include sessions on how to access and use migration data, using data from Indian reservations and shortcuts to data management, among other things.
The cost to register is $95.
