South Dakota State split their last two road matches of the season and will return to Fishback Soccer Park to host Denver and Oral Roberts for their final two matches of the regular season.
North Dakota State
An unbeaten streak for SDSU ended at Dacotah Field in Fargo last Thursday.
NDSU’s Morgan Russmann found the back of the net in the 31st minute of play for the game’s only goal. Missed shots by SDSU late in the match allowed the Bison to defeat the Jacks 1-0.
Despite the loss, the Jacks outshot the Bison 14-4. The Murdzek twins, Mia Bosch and Maleah Evans each had two on the night, while six other Jackrabbits were credited with one shot a piece.
Morgan Russmann led the Bison in shots with two while Gabrielle Garrett and Alicia Nead split the remaining shots. Nead fouled four times during the match while Russmann and Garrett fouled twice each.
North Dakota
A dominating turnaround in Grand Forks put the Jacks back on track.
Back-to-back goals by SDSU in the 31st minute opened the scoring. Katherine Jones was first to score, marking her first goal of the season. Xehlia Salanoa followed that up 44 seconds later with her first goal of her collegiate career. Adrianne Agbayani concluded the scoring in the 87th minute, keeping UND winless in the Summit League.
12 Jackrabbits put up a combined 21 shots against the Fighting Hawks. Mia Bosch put up five shots, tying her season-high against South Dakota, with four on goal and an assist. Katherine Jones put up three shots with two on goal. Emma Knack recorded a season-high five saves.
Only eight shots came from UND players. Julia Briggs, Amelia Loeffler and Paula Moreno Diaz each had two while Sofia Desirello and Sarah McCracken split the rest.
SDSU moves to 4-1-1 in conference play.
Denver
SDSU’s next opponent at home will be the Denver Pioneers. They are coming off a draw with Omaha last Thursday.
Ella Frost leads the team in shots this season with 39. The fourth-year midfielder also leads the team in goals with seven, most points with 16, and shots on goal with 14. As a team, the Pioneers average 18.1 shots per game, the second highest total in the conference behind SDSU. They have scored 29 goals, also second-best in the conference.

Oral Roberts
SDSU’s final opponent will be Oral Roberts. They will play South Dakota tonight before visiting SDSU this weekend.
Samantha Guzman is the team’s leading scorer with six goals and two assists off 25 shots. She has gone three games without scoring a goal since their Oct. 5 match against Denver. Julia Thasaphong leads in shot output with 29 and has scored five goals and four assists. The Golden Eagles have scored 27 times, tied for third in the Summit League and have outputted an average of just under 13 shots per game, fifth in the conference.
“It’s crazy to think, you know, we’re into the last weekend and there’s five teams in the [Summit League] that have lost [only] one conference game,” head coach Brock Thompson said. “That’s a credit to the league. The league is outstanding.”
