Students in SDSU’s School of Design are creating creative costumes for this year’s Hobo Day Parade.
“This project not only promotes the school, but it also develops community and collaboration,” Kristyn Weaver, the professor who is leading the project, said.
The project, which is taking place over seven class sessions, involves students from many areas of study, such as architecture and studio art. Weaver says the students are able to collaborate and break down barriers while creating unique costumes.
“Since this time of year is close to Halloween, Halloween is undoubtedly giving some inspiration for the students,” Weaver said.
Claire Elsinger, a junior involved with this project said she enjoys the opportunity to experiment with various design components.
“It’s a fun way to show the Brookings community what the School of Design has been doing,” Elsinger said.
Elsinger said she thinks this is a great project and is happy to be a part of it.
