Donors from all 50 states and 15 countries helped contribute to raise over $2.7 million in 24 hours during this year’s One Day for STATE on Sept. 5.
The eight annual event put on by the South Dakota State University Foundation saw 6,068 donors raise $2,757,790 from 7,172 gifts supporting over 110 different causes, including scholarships, research, academic program, athletics and more according to a press release from University Marketing and Communications.
“It’s incredible to witness how the campus and the community work together to exceed expectations, year after year.” SDSU Foundation Associate Vice President of Pipeline Strategy Erin Glidden said.
Of the over 6,000 donors, 655 were faculty and 555 were current students.
The one-day event culminated with the Yellow and Blue Block Party that featured performances by The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band and the SDSU cheerleading and dance team.
