9/23 SA meeting in brief

The Students’ Association Senate met at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 in the Lewis and Clark Room of the Student Union. Here is what you need to know:  

DevState Development Studio 

The constitution for DevState Development Studio was approved. This new club will focus on software development aimed to help students and the university. Its first project will be to create a digital hub for students to check the hours and other services found in the Student Union.   

Student Tailgating 

According to Finance Chair Jesse Carlson, the student tailgating held before Saturday’s game had roughly 80-100 students attend. This event is expected to continue for future home games. 

Resolution 19-02-R: Dakota’s Promise Need-Based Scholarship

A resolution was proposed to encourage an adjustment to the South Dakota Board of Regents’ proposed needs-based scholarship. The current proposal caps eligible students at an ACT score of 26. The proposed resolution asks for that cap to be removed. Senators will discuss the resolution at their next meeting. 

The Students’ Association Senate will meet again at 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30 in the Lewis and Clark Room. The meeting time was pushed back to accommodate Hobo Day activities.
