The Students’ Association Senate awarded two more important SDSU figures with Jackrabbit of the Day Awards.
Since the Senate will not meet over the semester break, senators chose to give two awards at their last meeting of the semester. Honorees include two SDSU faculty members who are in charge of highly successful extracurricular program.
Initiated this fall, the Jackrabbit of the Day awards are designed to recognize members of the SDSU community for their efforts to enhance the university.
Paul Danger, The SA’s Jackrabbit of the Day for Dec. 11 is SDSU head cross country coach. Danger, who was recently named the NCAA Division II Cross Country Coach of the Year, led the men’s and women’s teams to top ten finishes at the cross country championships in Ashland, Ohio, last month.
When it’s James McKinney’s day Jan. 1, 2003, he will be about 2,000 miles away. He and nearly 400 SDSU students will be marching in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif. McKinney is director of bands for SDSU, which includes his duties as leader of the Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band.
