The music of Epic Hero has been branded everything from “pop-rock” to “alterna-pop” to Christian.
The band, opening for Phantom Planet, has already earned a following in their native Minneapolis and surrounding Midwestern states. The group has toured relentlessly since releasing their debut album, A Brighter Mess in 2001, opening for the likes of Lit, Rascal Flatts, Bliss 66, Something Corporate and Semisonic.
Songs from the group have gained airplay on over 100 college radio stations across the country.
Ashley Allen, station manager for KSDJ, thinks Epic Hero is a strong opening act for Phantom Planet.
“Epic Hero is from Minnesota and they have a pretty good regional following,” Allen says.
