Students who are looking to have their prescriptions filled may not need to look any further than SDSU’s campus pharmacy on the second floor of West Hall.

Offering a variety of generic and over-the-counter medications, the campus pharmacy is a convenient resource for students.

The campus pharmacy offers one-stop shopping for those who obtain their prescriptions just down the hall at the Student Health Center, said the Director of Student Health and Counseling Services, Janet Mullen.

The pharmacy also accepts prescriptions not obtained through the Student Health Center.

All of this makes the campus pharmacy more convenient and accessible to students.

The pharmacy offers competitive prices and accepts a fair amount of prescription insurance cards, said Mona Norris, an SDSU graduate who is now the pharmacist at the campus pharmacy.

Because the pharmacy gets its medications through a multi-state buying group, it can obtain lower prices and then pass those savings on to students who use the pharmacy, Mullen said.

In addition to some prescription cards, the pharmacy can also accept third-party payments such as insurance, and can also accept co-pays.

Some students like the idea of having an on-campus pharmacy.

“I think it is a good idea because it is more convenient and we can get special discounts as students,” said Lindsay Schultze, an undecided major from Morgan, Minn.

The campus pharmacy is located on the second floor of West Hall, and is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and then again from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Student Health and Counseling Services is available at 688-4157, and the pharmacist can be reached at 688-5410, to answer any questions regarding the pharmacy, prescriptions or other services available to students.
