“Hey, Tristan, do you know who Sam Raimi is?” I asked my friend last night.
“Sam Raimi? Oh, I know he is. He’s that Indian guy who did The Village and Signs,” was his reply.
Well, I quickly corrected him. That was M. Night Shyamalan. Sam Raimi is an actor, director, writer, producer and in my opinion he is also a genius.
Most recently he produced The Grudge, directed both Spiderman movies, and originally wrote and directed the all three Evil Dead horror cult classics.
As far as acting is concerned, Raimi sticks mostly to bit parts, but you can see his genius shine even in these. In the film Indian Summer he plays a disoriented campground assistant.
