Sacramento based band Papa Roach will be performing in Sioux Falls on March 6. Papa Roach, who has just recently returned from overseas, is now touring the US for its new CD, Getting Away with Murder.
Jerry Horton, guitarist for Papa Roach, thinks the new CD has a better perspective then the last few they have made.
“Lyrically, this CD is much less self-pitying,” Horton says. “The major theme of our songs is not to dwell on the bad things in life and get past them.”
Their new single, “Scars,” is a prime example of their new attitude toward life. The song is playing on radios across the nation and climbing charts. It sends a message to the listeners that Horton thinks is very important.
“[The song] is about owning up for our own passions and not relying on someone else,” Horton says.
Horton also states that the band is excited about playing a smaller Midwest town.
“[The smaller cities] don’t get a lot of shows there,” he says. “At smaller shows, you get more of an ability to see everyone’s faces and feed off the energy of the crowd.”
Papa Roach will be performing with Skindred and F’Ups at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall. Tickets are available at all Last Stop CD Shops and all Ticketmaster outlets for $20.
