If you are like me, you no doubt eagerly anticipate this time of year. Not because you start new and interesting classes or even because you can once again fully dedicate yourself to updating your Facebook profile full-time.

No, this is the time of year you finally reunite with old friends. However, I’m not alluding to the “friends” you avoided speaking to all summer and now awkwardly greet at regular intervals. I speak of friends such as Stewie Griffin or Dr. McDreamy. Yes!! TV season premieres are upon us again.

With this critical knowledge in mind, I hope to remind you of some of the most popular upcoming premieres on network TV. Recent information shows that “Family Guy” and “The Simpsons” both remain popular for SDSU students. Considering both new seasons premiered on FOX Sept. 10, I hope you tuned in.

If you’re a fan of medical shows, the two big ones appear back-to-back this fall. An admitted obsession for various college students, “Grey’s Anatomy” changes to Thursday nights this year and premieres on ABC Sept. 21. Then quickly flip over to NBC for “ER”, which also opens that night.

Maybe you have a taste for unrealistic, drama-type shows. All the “CSIs” return to CBS the week of Sept. 18. The creepy women of “Desperate Housewives” appear on ABC Sept. 24. My personal favorite, the entirely believable world of “Lost,” premieres Oct. 4 on ABC. Finally, if you’re a fan of the angsty Ryan Atwood or quirky Seth Cohen, I’m sorry to report that “The OC” does not return to FOX until early November.

Of course, many of us remain faithful fans of reality TV. If you enjoy B-list celebrities ineptly skipping around the dance floor, “Dancing with the Stars” appears Tuesdays on ABC and premiered Sept. 12. “Survivor” comes back to CBS for a thousandth season on Sept. 14, taking us to the Cook Islands. The adventure series “The Amazing Race” takes off Sept. 17 on CBS. Ty Pennington and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” may be worth a glance, returning Sept. 24 to ABC.

At this point, I hope I’ve at least jogged your memory to a possible premiere approaching. If I didn’t mention your show, do a little research to find when your fave premieres. Whether you have a big-screen plasma with two hundred channels or you’re straining with a pair of rabbit ears and tin foil, take a break to tune in.
