Men skate past St. Cloud in weekend series

The men’s hockey club faced off against the St. Cloud State Huskies on Jan. 19 and 20 at Larson Ice Center.
The Huskies are a division above the Jacks, but the SDSU team went undefeated in their two-game series with St. Cloud. In the first game of the series, the Jackrabbits won 5-2.
Roy Sando paced the Jacks’ offense in the game, scoring two goals.
Goalie Brad VanSanten stopped 38 shots.
In the second night’s contest, the Jacks battled the Huskies to a 4-4 tie.
Jeff Hitchcock scored the equalizer for the Jacks with one minute and forty-five seconds remaining in the final period.
The Jacks now sport a record of 11-5-1 on the season.
On Jan. 26 and 27, the team hosts the Iowa State Universty Junior Varsity Team at Larson Ice Arena at 7 p.m.
