SDSU’s Most Eligible Bachelor is a student that is a well-rounded model of SDSU’s character. He portrays not only excellence in academics, but also involvement in extra curricular activities, leadership roles and/or participation in organizations/groups and/or strong work experience.
Throughout the past few weeks, applications were filled, phone calls were made and interviews were organized, all to find SDSU’s top singles.
Now it’s your turn.
Listed below are the top three candidates. After you’ve decided who you think best represents an SDSU bachelor, go to sdsucollegian.com to place your vote. Voting ends on Feb. 23.
On Feb. 28, The Collegian will announce the winner, and give you a more personal look into his life.
Tim GuldanTim Guldan is a junior biology education major from New Ulm, Minn. Guldan is the executive producer of Philosophika films (and their unofficial cook), a trombone/bass guitar player for the Pride, bass player for the SDSU Navigators and a resident assistant in Young Hall.
After graduation, he would like to move back to Minnesota to teach high school and continue to help his parents with farming back home.
In his spare time, he likes to hunt, fish, golf and spend time with his friends. He enjoys playing his guitar along to music, and likes classic rock such as AC/DC and Metallica.
Guldan describes himself as an outgoing person with a great disposition and claims that he has the ability to help others to be in a good mood as well. Three traits he admires in a significant other include being cheerful, charismatic and having the ability to just be one’s self.
His friends describe Guldan as an “all-around stand up guy.” They portray him has a very down-to-earth guy who likes many different activities including playing an instrument, cooking, cleaning, playing sports and making movies.
Ross HettingerRoss Hettinger is a junior art education major from Ft. Pierre, S.D. He’s a member of Jacks FanAddicts, art director for Philosophika Films, as well as a residential assistant in Binnewies Hall.
After graduation, Hettinger would like to stay in the area and teach art education at a high school level and would like to become a certified basketball coach. He prefers the smaller, country setting to live in but doesn’t mind the challenge of a larger city.
Hettinger thinks his top traits include his smile, eyes and disposition. He describes himself as easy to talk to and a great listener. In a significant other, he is most attracted to eyes, smile and a very outgoing personality.
In his spare time Hettinger enjoys watching movies. His favorites include “Dances With Wolves,” “Legends of the Fall” and “Meet Joe Black”.
Hettinger’s friends describe him as a very nice, easy-to-talk-to guy. One of his friends recalls a time when she was sick, and Hettinger took time out of his day just to bring her soup. They also illustrate him as having a ‘genuinely positive attitude.’
Adam QuailAdam Quail is a junior health promotions major from Sinai, S.D. He is involved in intramural basketball and football, city league basketball, HEROH and the Pre-Professional Science Club. Quail is also a supervisor on the Safe Ride bus.
After graduation, Quail’s goal is to go to a physical therapy school. He prefers a small-town setting and wouldn’t mind staying in South Dakota after school.
Quail describes himself as a nice, smart and charismatic person. He portrays a significant other as a fun, attractive person with a good personality.
Quail has an older brother and a younger sister. He is very close to his family, and usually goes home every other weekend to visit.
In his free time, Quail can be found studying or hanging out with friends and family. He describes his best date as something simple, with good conversation that is just plain fun.
Quail’s friends describe him as a great guy who cares about others. They illustrate him as involved, smart, athletic and very outgoing. He’s also described as fun to hang out with, genuine and an all-around good guy.
