Blow the dust off your Nikes and get ready to talk smack as you score a fade-away jumper in the eye of your opponent. For those who have missed playing basketball in high school, the SDSU intramurals have an opportunity to continue their playing career.

The Intramural Office (251 Stanley J. Marshall HPER Center) are seeking men’s and women’s teams to hit the hardwood for the spring 2008 semester. Competition for both men and women will start on Jan. 21.

For those of you who would like to be on a team but cannot find enough people, there is a sign-up sheet with both male perspective athletes and female perspective athletes.

The following new rules apply:

For the teams who are there to be competitive, but mostly to have fun, normal eligibility rules apply (see The Web site for intramurals on campus is: http://www3.sdstate.edu/StudentLife/Intramurals/).

For teams who are there primarily to win and have competed on a higher level, here are the new eligibility rules:

Former varsity athletes no longer have to wait a year. As long as they are not on a current roster, they can play.

There is no limit to how many varsity athletes are on a team.

Current varsity athletes on any roster (other than basketball) are eligible to play.

Current athletes on the varsity basketball roster are still ineligible to play intramural basketball. All athletes are welcomed to compete in all abilites. The deadline to sign up is fast approaching, be safe, sign up now.
