Do you want to see NBA quality in the state of South Dakota? Well, you are in luck as the National Basketball Association Development League Skyforce plays in Sioux Falls. The local team is affiliated with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlotte Bobcats. The Skyforce, former members of the Continental Basketball Association, provides first-class entertainment at reasonable prices.
The Sioux Falls Arena has three sections for which fans can buy single game tickets for $10 or less ($9, $5 and $4), and the games are fun for the whole family. A fan-friendly atmosphere meets spectators as there are junior cheerleaders and dancers constantly dancing and cheering for the Skyforce.
The D-league has special rules, which add to the fan-friendly atmosphere. The players sit all the way down the bench in the far corner, and fans sit where the teams usually sit. The atmosphere that it creates is one where a coach and fans can talk in a unique way. On March 1, one fan asked the Bakersfield Jam Head Coach Scott Roth, “How can you only win six games?” Roth answered, “We have a whole new roster, and we are getting better.”
So if you are looking for the NBA stars of tomorrow, head to Interstate 29 and get a decent priced popcorn and soda while watching the Skyforce.
