Jackrabbit Stampede kicks off spring season

SDSU hosted the 54th annual Jackrabbit Stampede Rodeo at the Swiftel Center on April 10 to 13, marking the start of the spring collegiate rodeo season.

Fans of South Dakota’s state sport got to enjoy saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, team roping, calf roping, tie down roping, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, goat tying and barrel racing at the four-day event. Over 250 contestants competed from colleges in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska. The rodeo featured livestock provided by Sutton Rodeo’s from Onida, S.D.
