There are many things to do on Oct. 4, Hobo Day. Peace Lutheran Church is one place that will offer a variety of bands for people to enjoy.

One of the bands playing is These Hearts from Fargo. The band is comprised of Skyler Patzer (bass and vocals), Ryan Saunders (vocals), Isaiah Folk (drums), Daryl Van Beek (guitar) and Tom Westernhold (guitar).

These Hearts started in the fall of 2007 when “Isaiah and Daryl moved to Fargo, originally with plans to go to school.” They describe their music as “screaming and poppy singing, so think like All Time Low meets UNDEROATH.”

Currently, These Hearts have one EP out called Mistakes and Second Takes. They are also leaving for their third tour on Oct. 1.

“Our favorite part of touring is probably meeting new people,” they said.

These Hearts cites other bands’ music as a source of inspiration by taking their favorite elements from everyone else and combining it.

Another band playing that night is All But Promising. They are a local high school band that got started about five months ago.

According their Web site, All But Promising is a hardcore, experimental Christian band trying to spread the word of God through their music.

They are a five-piece band of EJ Salazar (vocals), Drew Heisel (guitar), Patrick Bertsch (bass), Justin Bechmann (guitar and vocals) and Evan Jensen (drums).

“We do this for two main reasons. One, to have fun, duh. But mostly, for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” they said.

These Hearts and All But Promising will play at the Peace Lutheran Church on Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Other bands playing that night include Here Lies The Traitor, Venia, Everest and Awaken My Nightmare. There is a cover charge of $7.
