“Taming of the Shrew” to take stage at Doner Auditorium
April 5, 2011
“The Taming of the Shrew,” a comedy by William Shakespeare, will conclude State University Theater’s 2010-2011 season in Doner Auditorium at South Dakota State University. J.D. Ackman directs the SDSU production by the 16th century playwright with a 21st century flare opening at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. The performance shows nightly through Saturday, April 16, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 17.
One of Shakespeare’s most enjoyable stories brings the SUT season to a close with marriage, money and mayhem taking center stage in a tumultuous battle of the sexes with a bit of Western, instead of Elizabethan, costuming and staging.
Admission is free for SDSU students; adult tickets cost $16, senior citizens tickets cost $14 and SDSU faculty and staff pay $10 a ticket. Admission for non-SDSU students and children is $9.
