Fuad takes 13th, leads team to 8th

CORVALLIS, ORE.—Sophomore Islamiah Fuad (Perak, Malaysia) finished tied 13th and the Jackrabbits placed eighth at the Oregon State Invitational Tuesday.

SDSU shot a final-round 317 (301-302) for a three-round 920. Oregon State won the 10-team field, shooting a three-rounds 879 (292-290-297) at the 6,256-yard par-72 Trysting Tree Golf Club.

Fuad shot a four-over par 76 in the final round to finish with a seven-over par 223 (72-75-76). Classmate Hallie Getz (Pierre) shot a five-over par 77 Tuesday to finish tied for 22nd with a 226 (75-74-77).

Junior Brianna Janu (Glenwood, Minn.) and freshman Natcha Srimaneerungroj (Bangkok, Thailand) tied for 44th with 237. Janu shot an 82 and Srimaneerungroj an 85 in the final round.

Junior Sydney MacDonald (Calgary, Alberta) tied for 53rd, shooting an 82 in the third round (79-81-82=242).

SDSU returns to action Sept. 22-23 when it hosts the Jackrabbit Fall Invitational at the Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls.
