“It’s tough because we’re right there.”said head coach Phil McDaniel “It’s not a matter of effort, it’s a matter of paying attention to the little things and finishing strong.”
Finishing strong has been a common struggle for the Jacks in their losses this year.
“We are right in those matches and then we make too many errors in a row,” McDaniel said. “Those last eight points we tighten up a little bit and when you tighten up you make more mistakes. … We have to excel and be good for last 8 to 10 points of each set.”
Junior Wagner Larson had 6 kills and a career high 6 block assists. Sophomore Tiara Gibson and freshman Ashley Beaner both added 6 kills as well.
The Jacks have two road games before returning to Frost Arena on Nov. 14 and 15 to play Oral Roberts and Western Illinois to end the season.
